Open fires are prohibited throughout the park from midnight to 4 p.m. through April 30 per the 4 p.m. Burning Law. This includes wood and charcoal. Gas is permissible. Campground fires are allowed during the restricted time if a camp host is on duty and signage to that effect is posted in the campground. Failure to observe the 4 p.m. Burning Law can result in a fine. Contact the Park Office for additional information.

Sept. 10, 2022. 2:00 p.m. - 3:30 p.m.

View the park from another angle as we take a smooth trip down three miles of the North Fork of the Shenandoah River. Everything you need to have a relaxing float will be provided such as kayaks, PFD's and paddles. Please wear closed toed shoes, bring water and maybe a towel or change of clothes. This program is reserved for people 10 years and above. Space is limited.

Meet at the Lupton access canoe launch. You are welcome to park in the upper lot and walk to the canoe launch if parking is not available in that area. All vehicles must display an annual or daily parking pass. Either pass can be purchased as you enter the park that day.
