Open fires are prohibited throughout the park from midnight to 4 p.m. through April 30 per the 4 p.m. Burning Law. This includes wood and charcoal. Gas is permissible. Campground fires are allowed during the restricted time if a camp host is on duty and signage to that effect is posted in the campground. Failure to observe the 4 p.m. Burning Law can result in a fine. Contact the Park Office for additional information.

Our own 'mini' Bluegrass Festival with The Hot Seats, Into the Fog, Josh Grigsby and County Line, and the Slack Family.

The Hot Seats specialize in unearthing traditional music and reinventing it into something fresh and funky. From Richmond, Virginia, they blend ragtime, oldtime, and jug band sounds that are unlike anything you have seen or heard. This local favorite is sure to please with their dynamic tunes. Into the Fog is a genre jumping string band hailing from Raleigh, North Carolina and they have quickly made a name for themselves across the music festival circuit. Josh Grigsby and County Line began in 2013 and became very popular on the local music scene. Based out of the beautiful Northern Neck of Virginia, the award winning band plays traditional, contemporary, gospel and bluegrass music giving the audience a wholesome connection. The Slack Family is ever creating energetic, diverse and infectious music featuring three part vocal harmonies and a wide variety of influences. Admission is $20; children 5 and under are free. Advanced tickets are available at tickets to buy or at the park office. Parking fee required at all times.
