Open fires are prohibited throughout the park from midnight to 4 p.m. through April 30 per the 4 p.m. Burning Law. This includes wood and charcoal. Gas is permissible. Campground fires are allowed during the restricted time if a camp host is on duty and signage to that effect is posted in the campground. Failure to observe the 4 p.m. Burning Law can result in a fine. Contact the Park Office for additional information.

Join us this Women's History Month and express yourself through water color painting. Each Sunday we will focus on a lady of the region who made an impact on the Commonwealth and nation. March 13th we commemorate Chief Powhatan's daughter, Pocahontas. March 20th we remember the legendary Virginia Dare. March 27 we honor the NASA "hidden figure," Katherine Johnson. The program is recommended for ages 5 and older. Location may change according to weather. Please call for reservations.
