Earth Day - Reduce, Re-use, & Recycle

Location of Smith Mountain Lake State Park in Virginia

Where

Smith Mountain Lake State Park, 1235 State Park Rd., Huddleston, VA 24104.

When

April 20, 2024. 1:00 p.m. - 3:00 p.m.

Would you like to reduce your 'plastic footprint' on our landfills, while finding a way to better enjoy the birds in your backyard? Come celebrate Earth Day by learning how you can help keep our environment clean, as well as help the local wildlife. Participate in fun activities where you'll learn to re-purpose items that might otherwise have ended up in the landfill. Here is a great way to turn trash to 'treasure.' Learn to make a soda bottle bird feeder using recyclable materials. Learn more about polystyrene (#6 recyclable), and how you can re-use it to create a 'shrinky-dink' necklace. All activities are free, but regular parking fees still apply.
