Discover the unique history that tells the story of Natural Tunnel and the surrounding region.
10 a.m. – Tunnel Talk Hike As you enjoy the awe-inspiring views of the mouth of the tunnel, discover why this geologic phenomena is so unique. During this guided hike, a park interpreter will the share the stories that make Natural Tunnel so special. This will be a 1/2 mile hike roundtrip that requires climbing sets of stairs on the way back up the trail. Wear sturdy shoes, bring water, snacks, and a camera. Meet at the Visitor Center. Free
2 p.m. – 4 p.m. - The Wilderness Road Blockhouse Tour a replica of the Anderson Blockhouse as members of the Daniel Boone Wilderness Trail Association provide information about the history of the building and area. Discover who John Anderson was and why his home was important to the frontier. Meet at the Blockhouse. Free
Visit the Daniel Boone Wilderness Trail Interpretive Center to enjoy the museum’s step by step journey along the Wilderness Road. This facility is open from 10 a.m. – 6 p.m. and is located at 371 Technology Trail Lane in Duffield, Virginia. Free
