Open fires are prohibited throughout the park from midnight to 4 p.m. through April 30 per the 4 p.m. Burning Law. This includes wood and charcoal. Gas is permissible. Campground fires are allowed during the restricted time if a camp host is on duty and signage to that effect is posted in the campground. Failure to observe the 4 p.m. Burning Law can result in a fine. Contact the Park Office for additional information.

Did you know that 18 million people live in the Chesapeake Bay watershed? Are you one of those 18 million?

Clean the Bay Day is an annual event aimed at cleaning up the water and land used by millions of people each day in the Chesapeake Bay. We've collected hundreds of pounds of trash over the years, and will be doing so again this year.

Join us for a shoreline clean-up on Watch House Trail. Visitors enjoy this site for its fishing and beautiful views, but sometimes trash gets left behind. The shoreline clean-up will begin at 9:30 a.m. and volunteers should meet at the Camp Store.

Closed toed shoes, pants, work gloves and bug spray are recommended, trash bags are provided. Remember to bring your reusable water bottle.
