Come explore our Dark Sky Park! Join park rangers as they teach you about the night sky, celebrate Halloween, and discuss the effects of light pollution. Meet the rangers at the Skyline Trail parking lot and either take a relaxing wagon ride (see below) or walk our beautiful trail up to Jefferson Point. Be sure to bring something comfortable to sit on and a red light flashlight if you have one.

Program Details:

Meet the rangers at the Skyline Trail parking lot; unless otherwise stated, all Dark Sky programs will take place at Skyline Trail. Parking will be provided at the Skyline Trail parking lot. A short, moderate hike to Jefferson Point will be necessary to attend the program.

A haywagon with seats for 20 people leaves at 9pm sharp to reach Jefferson Point. Pre-registration for the wagon ride is required; only one wagon runs per night and space is limited. To reserve, please call (540) 291-1326. Tickets for the wagon ride are $5 per person. Reservations and tickets are required only for the wagon ride. Standard admission and parking fees do not apply.

All programs are weather dependent. If a program is cancelled due to weather, we will have alternative Dark Sky programs offered indoors. Please monitor our website and social media for program updates or call the park to receive real-time information: (540) 291-1326.
