Open fires are prohibited throughout the park from midnight to 4 p.m. through April 30 per the 4 p.m. Burning Law. This includes wood and charcoal. Gas is permissible. Campground fires are allowed during the restricted time if a camp host is on duty and signage to that effect is posted in the campground. Failure to observe the 4 p.m. Burning Law can result in a fine. Contact the Park Office for additional information.

Are you interested in how you can reduce landfill usage, reduce greenhouse gases and increase the productivity of your garden soil?  On March 12th from 10am to noon, join Leesylvania State Park staff, Friends of Leesylvania State Park, and Virginia Cooperative Extension Prince William Master Gardener, Patrick Lucas, for the why, what, and how of composting, the first session of the park's 2022 Sustainability Series.  For registration or inquiries please contact the Visitor Center at (703)583-6904 or leesylvaniavc@dcr.virginia.gov.  Participation is limited to twenty guests; please mask. 

The Sustainability Series, in partnership with the Virginia Cooperative Extension (VCE), is one of Leesylvania State Park’s keystone programs for 2022.  Watch this space for more special events in April and May!
