Sailor's Creek Battlefield offers six, self-guided Hiking Trails with historic markers for the public to explore year round during daylight hours (sunrise to sunset). Each trail is named for a commander who fought in the last major battle of the American Civil War in Virginia on April 6, 1865 in direct correlation to where they stood during the fighting.

Kershaw Trail: (General Joseph Kershaw, CSA) 0.9 mile loop trail.
Custis Lee Trail: (General George Washington Custis Lee, CSA) 0.8 mile loop trail.
Wheaton Trail: (General Frank Wheaton, USA) 0.7 mile loop, that includes a 0.1 mile nature trail spur.
Stagg Trail: (Colonel Peter Stagg, USA) 0.4 mile linear trail.
Seymour Trail: (General Truman Seymour, USA) 0.2 mile linear trail.
Pickett Trail: (General George Pickett, CSA) 0.2 mile loop trail.

Each trail is family and pet-friendly. They range in difficulty from easy to moderate with varying terrain and elevation changes. Pets must be kept on a leash a maximum of six feet in length and controlled by their handlers at all times. Comfortable clothing, closed-toe shoes, sunscreen, and bug spray are recommended.
