Open fires are prohibited throughout the park from midnight to 4 p.m. through April 30 per the 4 p.m. Burning Law. This includes wood and charcoal. Gas is permissible. Campground fires are allowed during the restricted time if a camp host is on duty and signage to that effect is posted in the campground. Failure to observe the 4 p.m. Burning Law can result in a fine. Contact the Park Office for additional information.

Bring the family to Shenandoah River State Park's Massanutten Shelter, for our first annual Easter Egg Hunt!

There will be two separate on-site egg hunts starting at 1 pm.  The first hunt will be for ages 5 and under, and directly following will be a hunt for those 6-12.  We will also be offering a geocaching hunt for anyone wishing to participate that day, which can be found at geocaching.com. The event itself will not be made available until the morning of the event. Instructions will be posted at the Massanutten Shelter.

Parking fees will be expected the day of, however all participants will receive a complimentary voucher for one day of free parking at a future Virginia State Park visit!
