Kids to the Park: 'Possum Packs

Location of Hungry Mother State Park in Virginia

Where

Hungry Mother State Park, 2854 Park Blvd., Marion, VA 24354.
Discovery Center

When

May 21, 2022. 10:00 a.m. - 4:00 p.m.

Opossums love to scurry around and find things that catch their interest, but you don't need to search high and low for something of interest as Hungry Mother's interpreters have already put together boxes full of activities. Drop by the Discovery Center and collect a box of items to help you create a fun craft. There will be four crafts offered and each box contains everything you'll need. You can make a pine cone bird feeder (this craft includes peanut butter), a night time discovery bag, an origami seed pot, and/or a survival bracelet.

Survival Bracelets cost $3.00/box, but all other crafts are free. Once you finish one craft, go back for another. All boxes are on a first come, first serve basis, but can only be given out one at a time. Also, if you do a craft and don't want to keep your 'Possum Pack, please recycle by giving the box back to the front desk. Have fun discovering!
