First Day Hikes-Big Poplar Trail Hike

Join members of the Pocahontas Chapter of Virginia Master Naturalist  to see one of the biggest, and most "poplar" trees in the park. Big Poplar leads you along big trees, steep overlooks and Swift Creek. The trail is hard packed earth with some challenging elevation changes, be sure to wear sturdy shoes and bring water/snacks. While kid friendly, the use of strollers may be difficult. Friendly dogs are welcome on a leash. Moderate .7 mile loop from Visitor Center..
