Join the Virginia Master Naturalists at Leesylvania State Park to explore the habitat that provides food and shelter for our local wintering birds. The program will focus on finding and identifying berry plants like chokeberry, sumac, Virginia creeper, American holly, and winterberry holly as well as nut-bearing plants like oaks, hickories, hazels, and American beech. Track your sightings on iNaturalist and contribute to cataloging the biodiversity of Leesylvania! Please RSVP by contacting wtcmerrimacfarmvmn@gmail.com.
Meet your guides at the Leesylvania State Park Visitor Center. Dress for the weather and wear comfortable walking shoes. The program is free, but the regular $10 parking fee applies.
