Start the New Year with a visit to Chippokes State Park. Taking a hike to inspire those New Year resolutions centered on getting or keeping fit is the perfect family-friendly activity. First Day Hikes is an initiative of America's State Parks and hikes are offered in state parks across the country.

This year park staff will lead an approximately 1.3 mile hike to discover what is left of a historic roadway through the plantation. Learn about historic transportation routes, the area's first inhabitants as well as natural history along College Run Creek. Parking available at the Chipoax Trail Trailhead along Chippokes Farm Road.
