Reserve A Ranger and give your family or group a chance to engage in activities not otherwise scheduled during your visit to the park. The programs will be geared to the ages and interests of your group and will last 45 minutes. Call the Visitor Center to select a program.

Have an interest but don't see it on the menu? Just let us know and we can create a custom experience for you. Request a Ranger is first come-first serve and only one family/group will be allowed to Reserve A Ranger. A $10 fee applies per program and can be paid at the time of the program. Available Programs -Creek Crawl- A closer look at aquatic macro-invertebrates -Hand and Hand- How the park came to be through the Civilian Conservation Corps -Migration Madness- Play the part of a bird and to challenges faced when migrating. -Tree Life Cycle- A walk to grow with the trees. -Mythssss- Test your knowledge on the snakes of Virginia. -Skull ID- Investigate skulls to identify what critter went where.
