If you hadn't heard the news, Westmoreland State Park was hit hard late August by remnants of Hurricane Irene, followed up by Tropical Storm Lee two weeks later.

Countless trees were ripped down across the roads, trails, on top of cabins and buildings. The landscaping throughout the parks has changed...Mother nature certainly had her way, as the huge cliff side along the Potomac River has slightly fallen. Not to mention a mudslide took over the parking lot.

Cabin #24 is under repair, but several other cabins are available for reservation

Park staff have been looking forward to the day Westmoreland reopens for a long time. The park should be fully operational with the exception of part of a trail, cabins 5, 8, 14 & 24 and unfortunately, campgrounds are closed for the season. In addition to the cabins that were damaged and under repair, the staff took this opportunity to renovate some of the other cabins that were in need of structural repair, although not effected by the storms.

The day-use area and Fossil Beach will be open, and that still leaves 22 other cabins and a lodge available for your reservation!

Westmoreland State Park 22 cabins are ready for you to rent!

Cabin #2 is one of many available to reserve, unharmed by the storm

We hope you come visit before the all the colorful leaves fall from the trees. But nonetheless, we are open for business and look forward to the return of our visitors!
