Five Easy Steps to See More Virginia State Parks on Facebook
Did you know that odds are, you aren't seeing most of our posts on Facebook? You might not find out about a great Festival, cool program, money saving discount or cool contest. Follow these simple 5 steps and you will...
Facebook has some complicated algorithm that determines which page posts you see. Rightfully your friends and family have the priority slot but all your community, destination and product pages fight for the rest of the slots. Generally if you like, comment or share our posts you see us more often but you have to SEE us in the first place to be able to interact with us in those ways and we know you aren't.
The sad fact is that we have nearly 90,000 people on Facebook that have LIKED us and we are lucky if 3,000 of our fans see any one post unless we pay to increase that reach. Even our best posts and the ones we boost with advertising aren't seen by more than 20%. But Facebook has developed a way that you can make sure you see our posts more often (and we never post more than 4 times a day, rarely more than 3).
Step 1 - well, you have to like us first
Step 2 - Roll your mouse over the LIKED button and you will see the choices below. Unless you already figured out how to do these steps, you will probably see "Post in News Feed Default."
Step 3 - Click on the Posts in News Feed box. You will see 3 choices with "Default" marked as selected.
Step 4 - Click "See First" and then "Done"
Step 5 - Roll your mouse over the LIKED button. You should see "Posts in News Feed See First."
That's it. I have been testing this for a couple of months on my account. Would you believe even I wasn't seeing our posts? Usually when I go to my news feed, I see our Virginia State Park Facebook posts at the top along with a couple of other pages I have done this for. Unless I go for a few days without looking at my news feed, I see most of our posts now.
