Historic Belle Isle Garden Work Day

October 1, 2018. 10:00 a.m. - 1:00 p.m.

Volunteers are needed to assist with restoring the holly hedge at Belle Isle, the historic 1760s house for which the park is named. Approximately 30 new holly plants will be planted to replace the overgrown hedge, which was removed last fall.

Participants are encouraged to bring a shovel, work gloves, and a refillable water bottle. Carpooling is encouraged. Please preregister so that we can have a headcount, and can notify you in case of a change due to weather. Please call the park at 804-462-5030 or email Katherine.shepard@dcr.virginia.gov.

Rain date will be Oct. 2.

This event is presented in partnership with the Garden Club of Virginia, Garden Club of the Northern Neck, and Friends of Belle Isle State Park.
