2024 Solar Eclipse Viewing Party
Where
Staunton River State Park, 1170 Staunton Trail, Scottsburg, VA 24589.
Observation Field
When
April 8, 2024. 1:30 p.m. - 4:00 p.m.
Come join us for the partial Solar Eclipse at Staunton River State Park! We will meet on the Observation Field to witness this amazing event. The park will experience 85% coverage, so while we are not in the path of totality, it will still be a sight to behold. Join our rangers to get an up close and safe view of the eclipse through one of the park telescopes. We will also be making time capsules to remember the day. There is plenty of open space on the Observation Field to set up your chairs or blankets and get a glimpse of the eclipse. The Gift Shop will have eclipse glasses for sale for $1; please don't view the eclipse unless you are wearing approved glasses. The next total solar eclipse in North America won't occur until 2044. The eclipse will start at 1:59 p.m. and the peak will be at 3:16 p.m.
