Open fires are prohibited throughout the park from midnight to 4 p.m. through April 30 per the 4 p.m. Burning Law. This includes wood and charcoal. Gas is permissible. Campground fires are allowed during the restricted time if a camp host is on duty and signage to that effect is posted in the campground. Failure to observe the 4 p.m. Burning Law can result in a fine. Contact the Park Office for additional information.

Learn about native plants, how they benefit pollinators along with how to grow and care for them. Plants that are native to our region will be on display.

Proceeds from the native plant sales to benefit the Friends of Sailor's Creek Battlefield Historical State Park.

Guests are also encouraged to enjoy one of the many hiking trails throughout the park or learn more by taking the marked driving tour around the park. Trail guides and a driving tour map will be available.

Sailor's Creek Battlefield Historical State Park is located at 6541 Saylers Creek Road in Rice, VA. The Visitor's Center is open from 9:00 AM to 4:00 PM daily while the park itself closes at dusk. Each presentation as well as parking is FREE. For more information, call (804) 561-7510.
