The Friends of False Cape is a non-profit community support organization that works to support False Cape State Park in its mission to provide opportunities that encourage and enable people to enjoy, protect, and restore Virginia's natural and cultural treasures.
Friends members are not required to volunteer; although many do. If you don't have time to volunteer, simply joining and supporting the Friends of False Cape in their advocacy efforts conducted in conjunction with the Virginia Association for Parks is also very helpful.
The Virginia Association for Parks (VAFP) holds conference in spring and fall or each year. At these conferences, friends members from across the state share ideas and experiences.
Many Virginia State Parks have "Friends of" groups and those that don't are looking to start one. If you are interesting in joining a Friends group, contact your nearby or favorite park directly or check out the affiliate groups of the Virginia Association for Parks page.
You don't have to live near the park to join the friends group although many community members to join the group closest to them. You can also join the Virginia Association of Parks if you would like to support statewide advocacy of our Virginia State Parks.
False Cape State Park is located in the far southeast of the Sandbridge section of Virginia Beach. Access to the park is limited to hiking, biking or kayaking. There is a tram shuttle, guided kayak tours, and other special programs that provide transportation into the park Please click here for a current schedule of programs.
