Open fires are prohibited throughout the park from midnight to 4 p.m. through April 30 per the 4 p.m. Burning Law. This includes wood and charcoal. Gas is permissible. Campground fires are allowed during the restricted time if a camp host is on duty and signage to that effect is posted in the campground. Failure to observe the 4 p.m. Burning Law can result in a fine. Contact the Park Office for additional information.

Howdy dawgs! We keep gettin' those two leggeds who say Virginia State Barks is not fair to dawgs and that they shouldn't have to pay per pet to camp in the campgrounds.

But can't yawl tell them that there is no charge for dawgs who camp at Virginia State Barks?

Dogs stay free at Virginia State Bark campgrounds

As long as you have had your vaccinations, wear a leash no longer that 6 feet and are under control at all times, then you can stay with the fam in a campsite.

Other things to consider is that when you are in a campsite you have other campers right next door, so try not to cause a ruckus by barking or chasing squirrels, you can probably do that at home anyway.

GET YOUR TAILS ON THE TRAILS!

It's funzy wunzies when you camp

You get to hear owls go hoo hooo, and see peter-rabbits hopping and your two leggeds like to eat more bacon when they camp so that means more bacon for us!

Tell the family if they want to learn more about Pets in Virginia State Barks here, or call 800-933-PARK to ask questions about campgrounds or make a reservation for one.
