Open fires are prohibited throughout the park from midnight to 4 p.m. through April 30 per the 4 p.m. Burning Law. This includes wood and charcoal. Gas is permissible. Campground fires are allowed during the restricted time if a camp host is on duty and signage to that effect is posted in the campground. Failure to observe the 4 p.m. Burning Law can result in a fine. Contact the Park Office for additional information.

Pocahontas State Park announces Premieres Summer Concert Series schedule

Each summer the park offers a summer concert series featuring various musicians representing a wide range of genres. The park’s Heritage Amphitheater is located in the heart of the park and sets the back drop for a beautiful night to listen to music under the stars. This historical structure offers musicians and concert goers a quaint musical experience where you can sit on a blanket or lawn chair, feel the night breeze and listen to the rhythm of the band.

Pocahontas Premieres features musicians representing a wide range of genres

To start the summer season off, the Premieres will host concerts ranging from the sounds of beach music of the Embers to the rock and roll rhythm of a tribute band to Bob Seger and a taste of every type of music in between.

2015 Pocahontas Premieres Summer Concert Series:

  1. Evening with The Embers – Friday, May 22, 2015 – 7 p.m.
  2. Richmond Symphony – Saturday, May 30, 2015 – 6 p.m.
  3. An Evening with Flashback – Saturday, June 13, 2015 – 7 p.m.
  4. Hollywood Nights Bob Seger Tribute – Saturday, June 27, 2015 – 7 p.m.
  5. ZOSO the Ultimate Led Zeppelin Experience – Saturday, September 19, 2015 – 7 p.m.
  6. Richmond Symphony – Saturday, September 26, 2015 – 6 p.m.
Don’t miss out on an opportunity to bring the entire family out to experience music at the park’s outdoor amphitheater. Bring a blanket, lawn chair and enjoy the sights and sounds of the park.
