Open fires are prohibited throughout the park from midnight to 4 p.m. through April 30 per the 4 p.m. Burning Law. This includes wood and charcoal. Gas is permissible. Campground fires are allowed during the restricted time if a camp host is on duty and signage to that effect is posted in the campground. Failure to observe the 4 p.m. Burning Law can result in a fine. Contact the Park Office for additional information.

August 10, 2019. 8:30 a.m. - 10:30 a.m.

Watch the sun peek over the treetops of Widewater State Park as you float along the Aquia Creek. Beginner paddlers are encouraged to join us. Rangers will be on hand to answer any questions and help you get in the water. Experienced paddlers will enjoy seeing the park from a different perspective.

Reservations are required and slots are limited. Please call 540-288-1400.

Paddlers using Widewater kayaks are $12

Paddlers bringing your own kayak are $6
