Open fires are prohibited throughout the park from midnight to 4 p.m. through April 30 per the 4 p.m. Burning Law. This includes wood and charcoal. Gas is permissible. Campground fires are allowed during the restricted time if a camp host is on duty and signage to that effect is posted in the campground. Failure to observe the 4 p.m. Burning Law can result in a fine. Contact the Park Office for additional information.

National Trails Day

June 5, 2021. 10:00 a.m. - 12:00 p.m.

Get your hands dirty as we work to improve the hiking experience on our backcountry trails. Discover how uncontrolled overgrowth effects trails, creating unpleasant trail conditions and hindering the hiking experience. Volunteers will meet at the Backcountry Trailhead at 10 a.m. to hike to work site, approximately 2.5 miles round trip. All ages are welcome and no experience is required. Tools will be provided. Dress for the weather and bring work gloves, water, a snack (optional), bug spray and sunscreen.Take pride in knowing you have contributed to the trails of Sky Meadows', improving them for future enjoyment.
