Open fires are prohibited throughout the park from midnight to 4 p.m. through April 30 per the 4 p.m. Burning Law. This includes wood and charcoal. Gas is permissible. Campground fires are allowed during the restricted time if a camp host is on duty and signage to that effect is posted in the campground. Failure to observe the 4 p.m. Burning Law can result in a fine. Contact the Park Office for additional information.

Sailor's Creek Battlefield cordially invites you and your family to our annual, Christmas Holiday tradition of having your photograph taken at the historic Hillsman House with it's holiday-themed, antebellum setting. Due to COVID-19 concerns, Saint Nicholas will not be able to join us this year, but families may still gather for a group or individual photograph inside the parlor room of the house.

Bring your own camera to take pictures of loved ones, or have one of our staff members take the picture for you. Four-legged family members are also welcome, but must be kept on a leash no longer than six feet and under the control of their handlers at all times.
