Open fires are prohibited throughout the park from midnight to 4 p.m. through April 30 per the 4 p.m. Burning Law. This includes wood and charcoal. Gas is permissible. Campground fires are allowed during the restricted time if a camp host is on duty and signage to that effect is posted in the campground. Failure to observe the 4 p.m. Burning Law can result in a fine. Contact the Park Office for additional information.

Earth Day 50

Get outside and observe as Citizen Scientists for Earth Day 50 at Lake Anna State Park. For one day, we will catalogue as many species of life within the park as we can together. Let's see how many species we can find. All you need to do is be able to take identifiable photos of living things in the park and upload them.

Bring your smartphone/mobile device and install the app, or bring your camera to upload photos on the website. Rangers will be on-hand to offer guidance on using iNaturalist from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m.

Please bring comfortable footwear, a water bottle, and your smartphone or camera.

If you can't make it, you can still help us out by helping to identify the species that have been photographed.

Please preregister and create your iNaturalist account by Saturday, April 18.
