We're turning 25!

On June 19, 1999, Raymond "Andy" Guest Jr. State Park, also known as Shenandoah River, opened its doors to the public. We started with just a few trails, a picnic area, and our primitive campground. Since then, we have added a RV campground, 11 cabins, miles of trails, a visitor center, and more!

For 25 years, Shenandoah River State Park has been the prime getaway destination for many people, whether that was for campers, hikers, equestrians, paddlers, picnickers, or mountain bikers! To celebrate, we are offering the following programs. For more information about these programs, please search through all the program listings here.

All Day - Free parking!

8:00 a.m. - Giveaways! (At the contact station). The first 25 people to enter the park will receive a free 25th-anniversary t-shirt and a goody bag filled with 25th-anniversary memorabilia! The remaining guests to enter the park will also receive a goody bag while supplies last.
