Open fires are prohibited throughout the park from midnight to 4 p.m. through April 30 per the 4 p.m. Burning Law. This includes wood and charcoal. Gas is permissible. Campground fires are allowed during the restricted time if a camp host is on duty and signage to that effect is posted in the campground. Failure to observe the 4 p.m. Burning Law can result in a fine. Contact the Park Office for additional information.

Moonlight Canoe Tour

Take a float as day turns into twilight, and the creatures of the night arise. This tour will show you how the lake's headwaters turn into a seemingly different place after dark, with strange sounds and crepuscular activities. The tour will continue down the lake, where you can learn some of the history of the area. We'll finish up under the stars and hear some lunar lore.

No canoe experience is necessary, and all equipment is provided. The minimum age to participate is 12 years old. There is no rain date. Advance registration is required at least 48 hours before the event through Eventbrite HERE. The cost is $10 per participant. Cancellations due to the weather will be made 48 hours in advance.
