Open fires are prohibited throughout the park from midnight to 4 p.m. through April 30 per the 4 p.m. Burning Law. This includes wood and charcoal. Gas is permissible. Campground fires are allowed during the restricted time if a camp host is on duty and signage to that effect is posted in the campground. Failure to observe the 4 p.m. Burning Law can result in a fine. Contact the Park Office for additional information.

Make today the day that you get your kids to a park for the healthy benefits and outdoor activities. Create your own adventure or join in on two free activities offered at our beach area.

A Discovery Hike at 10 a.m. will depart from the Lakeside Snack Bar and participants will venture onto park trails to see what we can find, and then learn about it. Tree? Mineral? Animal?

At 1 p.m. a Ranger Station will be set up at near the Lakeside Snack Bar with items to investigate, but also provide a time to talk with a park ranger about what they do, or how a kid can become one.
