In celebration of Virginia State Parks History and Culture Day, False Cape State Park will offer a special night tour to Wash Woods. Explore this hidden hamlet deep in the maritime forest of Virginia Beach in the dark. From sailors to surfmen, we’ll discover who made up the remote Wash Woods community. Under the cover of night, we’ll journey by tram into False Cape State Park. Then embark on a 1.5-mile roundtrip hike to the historic site including a cemetery from the 1800s. Cost is $10 per person. Reservations are required by calling 757-426-7128. Bring a flashlight and sturdy walking shoes to explore Virginia’s shipwrecked ghost town!
