Location of Pocahontas State Park in Virginia

Where

Pocahontas State Park, 10301 State Park Rd., Chesterfield, VA 23832.
Swift Creek Boat Launch

When

Nov. 24, 2023. 10:00 a.m. - 12:00 p.m.

Forgo the shopping and take a hike with a park ranger and Latino Outdoors members. Co-Op Trail is a hiking only trail and offers stunning views of Swift Creek Lake. The construction of Co-Op Trail was sponsored in part by REI, and each year we hike the trail the day after Thanksgiving as part of their #optoutside campaign. This year, we're partnering with Latino Outdoors whose mission is to "...inspire, connect, and engage Latino communities in the outdoors and embrace cultura y familia as part of the outdoor narrative, ensuring our history, heritage, and leadership are valued and represented."

Please dress for the weather. Trail is hard packed gravel with some roots and inclines. This 2.5-mile hike is geared towards all ages. Suitable for strollers, with assistance, and younger children may need to be in a carrier.

Please call (804) 796-4472 or email Rebecca.whalen@dcr.virginia.gov for additional information.
