The American Legion is the nation’s largest veteran's wartime service organization. Our local Surry County American Legion 160 will be leading a Flag Retirement Ceremony within the campground for the general public, campers, and day use park guests.

This event allows us to not only dispose of the American flag in the proper way, but to also honor veteran's and those who have served their country with the greatest sacrifice.

Everyone is invited to the ceremony to properly retire their own worn, tattered or damaged flags during the event in which flags will be burned. The ceremony will conclude once all flags have been retired. We hope that you consider attending this powerfully moving and patriotic event. Help us respectfully honor and pay tribute to Old Glory.

American Legion members solute Old Glory as another flag is retired.
