When

Sept. 2, 2023. 10:00 a.m. - 3:00 p.m.

How did Indigenous peoples use materials from the environment to fashion the clothes, tools, dwellings, and other objects they needed to survive and thrive? Join our friends from the National Park Service to try your hand at several crafts that Indigenous peoples in the Chesapeake would have relied. We'll look at making cordage from natural fibers, weaving baskets, shaping stone and bone into sharp tools, tying fish nets, and more! Stop by to chat with a National Park Service ranger about this and other topics, take home a trail map, participate in the Junior Ranger program, or even learn if you qualify for a free National Park pass!
