National Public Lands Day: Invasive Species Removal

Location of Mason Neck State Park in Virginia

Where

Mason Neck State Park, 7301 High Point Rd., Lorton, VA 22079.
Various Locations throughout the Park

When

Sept. 23, 2023. 10:00 a.m. - 2:00 p.m.

What a better way to celebrate National Public Lands Day than doing something for our public lands!  Volunteers can participate in an effort to remove invasive species from along our trails. By removing these plants, it gives native species a better chance of survival.

We will have bags and gloves, though it is recommended to bring your own.  This is a great opportunity to come as a family, or group, to do something good. Please plan to wear sturdy shoes that can get wet, and don't forget to bring plenty of water, sunscreen, and bug repellent. When you arrive, come to the visitor center to sign in and choose a trail to get started on.
