Discover the park by checking out exploration equipment to investigate the plants, wildlife, and history of Machicomoco and earn a self-guided Junior Ranger patch. This opportunity is designed for individual families and troops, and it will provide them with a unique self-paced expedition of the park's Interpretive Area and historic home while having the chance to interact with the park using the provided exploration equipment including butterfly nets, binoculars, and more! Gear can be checked out up to 30 minutes before the end of the program. All gear must be returned intact no later than 15 minutes after the end of the time frame. Patches available while supplies last.
We strive to make our programming and special event opportunities accessible and inclusive to all. If you have an accessibility or inclusivity concern, please reach out to our front office to speak with a ranger or contact us through the park email address. We will attempt to accommodate all individuals or families for their unique circumstances and can do so best with advanced communication.
