Walk through the rich history hidden beneath the surface of Occoneechee State Park. Discover the unique land transformations that have taken place over the last 350 years. During this ranger led hike, guests will have the opportunity to learn about the events leading up to the creation of Virginia State Parks as a whole and uncover the rich history of Occoneechee State Park. All are welcome to attend, we encourage clothing appropriate for the weather, closed toed shoes, and a reusable water bottle for this 0.7-mile hike along the Plantation Trail.

We strive to make our programming and special event opportunities accessible and inclusive to all. If you have an accessibility or inclusivity concern, please reach out to our front office to speak with a ranger or contact us through the park email address. We will attempt to accommodate all individuals or families for their unique circumstances and can best do so with advanced communication.
