New River Trail has more than 127 bird species; because of the river and fields, you're sure to see waterfowl, songbirds and the occasional eagle. Help us research the birds along the New River Trail as we participate in the international bird count hosted by the Audubon Society and the Cornell Lab of Ornithology.

These hikes are open to all ages and skill levels. Beginners are always welcome! Free birding apps such as Merlin Bird ID and eBird are excellent resources. Make sure you dress for cold weather and don’t forget your binoculars! Event will be held rain, shine or snow. Participants may also pack a lunch, there are nearby benches.
