Open fires are prohibited throughout the park from midnight to 4 p.m. through April 30 per the 4 p.m. Burning Law. This includes wood and charcoal. Gas is permissible. Campground fires are allowed during the restricted time if a camp host is on duty and signage to that effect is posted in the campground. Failure to observe the 4 p.m. Burning Law can result in a fine. Contact the Park Office for additional information.

Join Pocahontas State Park staff and volunteers in creating seasonal cheer. While preparing for the holidays, you'll learn more about the symbolism of wreaths across the globe and discover how you can turn an invasive species into a festive home decoration.
Using an assortment of natural and found materials, we'll work together to create a masterpiece. Some materials, such as pine boughs, vines, berries and ribbons will be provided, but feel free to bring your own additional material.
Supported by the Friends of Pocahontas State Park; a suggested donation of $20 per wreath is appreciated (cash or check only).
