Register through the park office by noon on the day of your choice for an activity of your choice from the Request a Ranger (RaR) menu. Some activities will have a small fee, others are free of charge. The location of the activity will be determined by the ranger and held either at a location in the park or, for overnight guests, at your campsite or cabin. Phone registration through the park office is available 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. at 804-492-4410.

The November menu titles include: Spectacular Snakes, Secrets of the Shell (turtles), Game On (fun games from days gone by), The Beauty of Beavers, Bear Necessities, Discovery Hike, Basic Archery ($5 per person. Minimum age 8 years old), and Fish Printing (craft, $2 per person, $6 for four people).

Only one RaR activity is available per day on a "first come, first served" basis. For more information on the activities or to request a specific topic that is not on the menu, please contact: bcguide@dcr.virginia.gov.

People with physical impairments or special needs interested in attending a ranger-led activity at the park please email bcguide@dcr.virginia.gov in advance so that we can enhance your visit to Bear Creek Lake State Park.
