Open fires are prohibited throughout the park from midnight to 4 p.m. through April 30 per the 4 p.m. Burning Law. This includes wood and charcoal. Gas is permissible. Campground fires are allowed during the restricted time if a camp host is on duty and signage to that effect is posted in the campground. Failure to observe the 4 p.m. Burning Law can result in a fine. Contact the Park Office for additional information.

Discover a whole new way of seeing the world around you. Keeping a nature journal can improve mental clarity, boost creativity, and build a strong connection with nature. Explore Widewater with a Ranger and take the time to slow down and absorb the beauty around us. Each session will begin with an in-depth look at one of the park's natural residents.
Rangers will be able to provide tools for writing and drawing, but journals are not provided. This program is held outside, so please dress for the weather.
