Open fires are prohibited throughout the park from midnight to 4 p.m. through April 30 per the 4 p.m. Burning Law. This includes wood and charcoal. Gas is permissible. Campground fires are allowed during the restricted time if a camp host is on duty and signage to that effect is posted in the campground. Failure to observe the 4 p.m. Burning Law can result in a fine. Contact the Park Office for additional information.

The keys to the Timberneck House have been stolen by a sly little fox, but which one? Using the dirt left behind by their paw prints, get to the bottom of this mystery by learning different ways to identify soil. This program is ideal for participants ages 10+ and requires pre-registration through the park office to include a $5 charge which covers all supplies. This is one of three in the Expedition Environment series where completion of all three will earn the participant a special series sticker. This program will meet under the oak tree in front of the Timberneck House facing the water.
