Reserve a spot on the Bat Wagon! Virginia Master Naturalist Joni Carlson will provide a short interpretive program on the importance of bats in our ecosystem, their preferred habitat in our region, and some challenges they face in sustaining healthy populations today. After sunset during the tram ride, she will demonstrate identifying bats in the park using the SonoBat Acoustic program which records echolocation sounds bats emit as they feed. Spots on the Bat Wagon are limited, so please sign up in advance by calling the park office.
