Open fires are prohibited throughout the park from midnight to 4 p.m. through April 30 per the 4 p.m. Burning Law. This includes wood and charcoal. Gas is permissible. Campground fires are allowed during the restricted time if a camp host is on duty and signage to that effect is posted in the campground. Failure to observe the 4 p.m. Burning Law can result in a fine. Contact the Park Office for additional information.

Earth Day - Pollinator Garden Expansion

In commemoration of Earth Day, this year park staff will be seeking assistance from volunteers to help us expand and redesign our Pollinator Garden by introducing native plants. This garden is located directly behind the visitor center. Gardening materials and hand tools will be provided by the park as well as protective gloves.  

Volunteers are encouraged to dress comfortably, apply sunscreen protection, and bring something to keep hydrated and to snack on. For questions, please call us at (804) 561-7510.
