Shelter 4
When
March 12, 2022. 2:00 p.m. - 3:00 p.m.
Join a ranger for a children's version of the fairy stone hunt and workshop. We realize that some of our younger guests might not be as successful as they'd hoped during our regular fairy stone hunts. In order to ensure that they find fairy stones, too, we're bringing the hunt to them. In an activity reminiscent to gem mining, kids can hunt for fairy stones in our "portable staurolite vein" while learning the about legend of the fairy stone and how they're made.
This program runs concurrently with the regular Fairy Stone Workshop.
Please pre-register for this program so that we can ensure we have enough containers prepared for participants. Pre-registration can be done at the Visitor Center, Park Office, or by emailing fairystone@dcr.virginia.gov.
