Join Natural Bridge State Park as we participate in the annual Great Backyard Bird Count Event.

Have you ever wondered just how many kinds of birds visit your backyard or local community? Do you want to learn more about birds and bird watching? This year, the national Great Backyard Bird Count (GBBC) event is being held from February 18th to February 21st to get you involved in ornithology at a local and personal level. To participate, Natural Bridge State Park will have informational tables set up for the duration of the event to explain what the GBBC is all about and how you can get involved.

On Saturday, February 19th and Sunday, February 20th we will have volunteers and rangers hosting Bird Count and Bird Watch 101 activities from 11am to 4pm. They will teach you how to identify birds and use the Merlin Bird ID app or the eBird Mobile app all from your phone.

We will host a guided bird watch hike Saturday and Sunday at 1pm at Blue Ridge Trail, so bring your curiosity and if you have them, your binoculars.
