History and Culture Day: Broom Making and Poplar Bark Baskets

Where
Hungry Mother State Park, 2854 Park Blvd., Marion, VA 24354.
Lakeview Lawn
When
June 18, 2022. 10:00 a.m. - 2:00 p.m.
Today, we enjoy the convenience of having many of our household items available to purchase at a store, but historically, there were methods to make these items by hand if needed. John and Susan Alexander are happy to demonstrate the techniques used to craft brooms and Poplar Bark baskets. Ask questions and learn about historical techniques that are still alive today.
