Open fires are prohibited throughout the park from midnight to 4 p.m. through April 30 per the 4 p.m. Burning Law. This includes wood and charcoal. Gas is permissible. Campground fires are allowed during the restricted time if a camp host is on duty and signage to that effect is posted in the campground. Failure to observe the 4 p.m. Burning Law can result in a fine. Contact the Park Office for additional information.

True Art Showcase and Children's Contest

True Art, named in the honor of the Museum's first curator, James True, features the works of today's local artist in a show that celebrates the creativity and talents of our friends and neighbors. Adults may submit up to four pieces of artwork no larger than 11 X 17.  The showcase also features a children's art competition reflecting this years theme "Scenery of Southwest Virginia," Works in a variety of mediums will be on display throughout the museum.

All artwork must be submitted by Friday, February 18 by 4 p.m. The park is closed during the months of January and February. To make arrangements to drop off art, or for more information. please call the park at 276-523-1322.

The park will comply with the state Covid 19 regulations in place at the time the program is offered.
