Open fires are prohibited throughout the park from midnight to 4 p.m. through April 30 per the 4 p.m. Burning Law. This includes wood and charcoal. Gas is permissible. Campground fires are allowed during the restricted time if a camp host is on duty and signage to that effect is posted in the campground. Failure to observe the 4 p.m. Burning Law can result in a fine. Contact the Park Office for additional information.

The Friends of Leesylvania State Park is a group of committed volunteers who assist the park in achieving its mission to serve visitors and protect Leesylvania's natural resources. The Friends help maintain the park and raise money to support park programs such as the Junior Ranger camps, Kids Fishing Tournaments, and special seasonal festivals. Friends also promote the park's unique recreational opportunities such as fishing, boating and more. Members have many interests and various backgrounds. There are several membership options. Feel free to email Friends of Leesylvania (friendsofleesylvania@gmail.com) to learn more or come to one of their meetings. They meet the third Tuesday of each month at the A.J. Ferlazzo Building in Woodbridge. Masks are required for this meeting.
