Department of Conservation and Recreation

In accordance with the Code of Virginia, the Virginia Department of Conservation and Recreation is preparing a master plan for High Bridge Trail State Park. The purpose of a master plan is to guide the management and development of a park by identifying natural, cultural and physical resources, as well as identifying park needs and engaging with the public.
The Department of Conservation and Recreation hosted a public information meeting on October 6, 2025, at the Town Council Meeting Room in Farmville, Virginia.
The purpose of the meeting was to obtain feedback on the preliminary recommendations of the proposed master plan, including the park ’s mission statement, interpretive themes, goals and objectives, and recommendations for new and improved recreational facilities. At the end of the meeting, the public had an opportunity to ask questions and provide feedback on the proposed development plan. You can submit your comments by email at PlanningResources@dcr.virginia.gov through Nov. 6, 2025.
